Advices Radio Question Submission
To have your questions answered on Advices Radio, please submit your questions here. All questions will be anonymous. You can ask for advice on anything you like, from training, drugs, nutrition, supplementation, career building, relationships and more.
Make sure you share any important info. Everyone is different, so to make the advice as applicable to your as possible, give a little background. For instance, if you are asking about gear, a basic history of gear use would help us understand your level of experience. The more info we have, the better we can help. That being said, make sure you are concise. If your question is 3 paragraphs long, it probably will not be used on the show.
Thank you!
Thank you for all of the great questions everyone has submitted to the Advices Radio Question Box. Moving forward, we are going to take all questions for the shows through the Bodybuilding Advices Forums.

Thanks for taking the time out to answer my question. I am 32 years old, 5,11" currently 240lbs around 8% BF. I have been competing since 2011 and have won a national title in NABBA/WFF. As far as steroid use goes, the first time I used was in 2014 for a contest prep. You could still call me somewhat of a beginner in this realm, as my contest dosages have never exceeded 1 gram in total and my typical offseason cycles would consist of the basic 400-500 test and 400-500 EQ with 40mg nolva daily for 12 weeks. PCT would mirror PoWer PCT by Scally. Generally I would run 2 x 12 week cycles per year. I also recently had my bloods done and everything was in range (aside the fact my test was 3 times the normal range as expected)
My question to you is now to figure out the optimal way for me to run my cycles during prolonged offseason periods (I don't compete every year).
I started my contest prep last december and finished up competing in april. Ever since I have been running a cruise dose of 250mg test E with 40mg nolva.
I am not sure what to do to set up safe prolonged use to gain mass at a steady rate. I know I will never be top level and I am fine with that-
Do I-
A. Run 12 weeks on-4 weeks pct-8 weeks off and repeat as required?
OR
B. Cruise at 250-300mg test per week and when I feel like a blast, run 10 weeks with an anabolic and slightly higher test (or even stay at 250/300) and then back down to cruise doses with a periodic break once per year for enough time to get LH/FSH back up and running? With this I still do 40mg nolva (! learnt this from JM).
With this option I was tossing up whether or not to have multiple breaks with some clomid thrown in there? or just to come off completely once a year and do the PoWer PCT plan then resume cruising.
I am trying to factor in PCT costs (HCG is hard to get and I typically save it for when i really need it but nolva/clomid easy to get) and of course, keeping my gear use within a sensible budget. i am happy to use higher amounts in a pre contest phase but trying to keep things very simple and safe outside of that.
I am looking to more lower doses for longer periods of time (option B), simply because coming on and off so much made me feel crappy.
So much conflicting information out there so I thought this might be a good topic of discussion whilst getting my own question answered.
We also just had our first child and possibly in a few years time go for a second, in which I am aware of risks etc but also I wanted to keep this all in mind.
Thanks!
Hey guys! Long time bodybuilding a strength podcast listener and huge bodybuilding fan.
I'm 31, female and have been lifting for about 9 years. I trained and dieted myself in 2013 and placed first in a class of 7 girls at a local figure show. Since then have been enjoying heavier, more powerlifting style training (and food and beer lol).
I've been having some pain in my right hip over the past year and it's been holding me back from heavy squating. I've never had a coach, and truly don't care to hire one. I am committed to doing my own research on proper form and technique and take a lot of pride in owning my outcomes.
I'd like to enter an armature powerlifting meet this year but am concerned that this hip issue is more than just an inflammation/tightness issue.
Before I go to the doctor and subject myself to X-rays etc, do you have any tips you could provide in terms of helping w hip mobity and possibly any supplements I could try to help lubricate my joints?
I find it hard to believe someone my age has a legitimate hip joint injury, so I'm leaning towards the fact that I have an acute, over-use, inflation issue.
Love you Guys!!!
And what are the side effects of t3 in women. Will I have to take it the rest of my life if I start a cycle and is it safe?
Thanks :)
I listen to your podcast religiously and appreciate all the insight you guys provide. I have also started listening to BNR but find advices to be a more targeted one so I really appreciate the load you have taken on.
I have a question on HGH - I am 43 years old now and have used steroids off and on in moderate doses (500 - 800 mg weekly with a test base which is usually half of that). After trying peptides for a while I took a break and then decided to try HGH. I liked the recomposition that occurs and thought maybe this would help me add a bit more muscle and honestly I believe moderate dosing is probably more positive than negative. I am on 3IU daily, first thing in the morning as I am largely doing it for recomp and some muscle building - I do train in the morning as well. What I am noticing though is allot swelling (this started about 3 weeks in) around my knees and ankles. I have had some in the ankles before just with steroid use, but the knees are a new one to me. I did read that this may result from HGH but it may mitigate after a while so I am debating sticking it out, but if it doesn't go away I think I will have to think twice about continuing. Swollen knees is not cool and usuall by the afternoon this starts up. No pain really but its not attractive. My height is 188 cm and I weigh around 220 lbs at probably 9-10% as I try to eat very clean and do fast as well during the week. Any thoughts on this? Anything I can do to try and reduce this myself? I know I am somewhat water retention prone but this is bizarre.
Thanks, sorry for the long write up.
